Mary Mazzone

Mary Maxine (Mongold) Mazzone, 96, formerly of Westernport, passed away on January 23, 2023, at Egle Nursing and Rehab Center.

Born on October 29, 1926, she was the daughter of the late David and Frances Ceceilia Mongold. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Anthony “Tony” Mazzone.

Maxine was an active member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Westernport. She attended Catherman’s Business School and worked as a typist at the Kelly.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered by friends and family for her sense of humor, strong devotion to her faith, and her kind and generous heart.

She is survived by her son, Leo David Mazzone and wife Rebecca; and her daughter, Mary Frances (Mazzone) Fisher and husband Michael. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Anthony Mazzone and wife Samantha, Myka Sidow and husband Andy, Christopher Mazzone, Natalie Bennett and husband Tyler, and Nicholas Mazzone and wife Tera. Maxine is survived by six great grandchildren, Robert Nathaniel and Gracie Maria Sidow, Paige Grayson, and Brooke Elizabeth Mazzone, Keegan Mazzone, and Ceceilia Frances Bennett; along with many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Friday, January 27th, from 4-7 p.m., with a “Celebration of Life” gathering beginning at 6:00 p.m., where friends and family will have the opportunity to share stories about Maxine.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the Divine Mercy Parish St. Peter Catholic Church, Westernport on Saturday, January 28th at 10:00 a.m.

Interment immediately following at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Westernport.
