Mary Lewis

Mary Ellen Lewis, 86, formerly of Bloomington, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 at Moran Manor Nursing and Rehab, Westernport.

Born March 28, 1931 at Frankville, MD, she was the daughter of the late Thomas O’Haver and Nettie O’Haver Starkey.  She was also preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, James H. Lewis, a niece, Missy O’Haver, a son-in-law, Dale Hamblin Sr., and a grandson, Patrick Lewis.

Mary lived the majority of her life in a town she loved, Bloomington.  She was a wonderful homemaker, a member of Bloomington Methodist Church, member of Bloomington Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and member of Westernport Senior Center.

She leaves behind her children, James L. Lewis (Vickie), of Luke, Wanda Hamblin, Akron, OH, Gerald Lewis (Carol), of Westernport, Ricky Lewis, Cumberland, and Robert Lewis (Lois), Hagerstown, one brother, Raymond O’Haver (Naomi), of Oakland.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, J. Jeffrey Lewis (Heather), of Ocala, FL, Dale Lee Hamblin (Pat), of Guyton, GA, Brenda Good (Keith), of Akron, OH, John Christopher Lewis (Sandy), of Westernport, Wendy Warner of Grantsville, Kelly Fairgrieve of Savage River, Carla Hamilton (David), of Barton, Erica McCroy of Edgewater, and Ashley Lewis (fiancé Justin Clark), of Falling Waters, WV, twenty three great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, niece, Mia Lansberry (Bill), of Oakland, nephew, Sonny O’Haver of Oakland, two great nephews, Brian and Cole Lansberry and many cousins.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Friday from 5 to 9 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Steffan Carr and Pastor Jack Harrison officiating.

Interment will be at a later date at Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
