Mary Catherine Fitzgerald

Mary Kirk Fitzgerald, 88, of Keyser, joined the love of her life in heaven on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.

Born on April 7, 1936, she was the daughter of Catherine McKenzie Kirk and Lester Kirk.

She was preceded in death by her best friend and husband of 51 years, Robert Lee Fitzgerald.

She is remembered by her children, Vicky Brenneman and Adam Swayne of Cumberland; Barry and Patricia Fitzgerald of Westernport; Glenn Fitzgerald of Keyser; Marlene Isenberg Fitzgerald of Delaware; and David Brenneman of Bloomington; and granddaughters and great-grandchildren, Wendy Brenneman and John & Mica Moorehead of Pennsylvania; Lauren Brenneman and Mike Lopez of Utah; Gina Brenneman and Maymie Lambert of Westernport; Emily Fitzgerald of Bethesda; Maranda, Bruce, Kensington, Sophia and Windsor Simmons of Georgia; and Mariah, Justin, Easton and Quinn McGregor of Pennsylvania.

Mary will be missed by her cherished sisters, Margaret and husband Ed Clark, Carolyn and husband Darrell Broadwater, and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Mary was a graduate of Bruce High School. She attended Frostburg Teachers College and graduated from Cathermans Business School. She worked at Westvaco and Prichards before retiring from State Farm with 30 years of service. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Piedmont. She enjoyed reading her Bible, listening to gospel music, and in her later years, taking trips to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee with her sister and brother-in-law.

Friends will be received at Boal Funeral Home, Westernport from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday for the visitation. The funeral service will follow immediately at 1:00 by Harold Bradley.

Interment will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills where she and her husband will be at peace by each other’s sides.
