Martin Cady

Martin S. Cady, 44, of Westernport, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018 at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born January 12, 1974 in Oakland, he was the son of the late Hugh Cady of Erie, PA and the late Elizabeth “Jane (Nazelrod) Cady of Oakland.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Clayton “Pete” Nazelrod of Delaware and a nephew Galen Nazelrod, of Delaware.

Martin was a graduate of Southern High School, Oakland.  He was a Correctional Officer, having been assigned to North Branch Correctional Institution for 9 years.  He loved fishing, camping, and the outdoors in all.  He was a member of Deer Park V.F.W.

He leaves behind his wife, Jeannie (Taylor) Cady, his step son, Randy Cubbage of Cumberland, his step daughter, Mandy Williams of Cumberland, brothers, Cliff Nazelrod and wife Sherry of Oakland and Gerald Cady of Grantsville and significant other, Melissa Jack of Cumberland.  He is also survived by nieces, Kylie Cady and McKenna Cady of Grantsville, nephew, Ryan Cady of Grantsville, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dottie and James Taylor of Westernport, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Annette and Joe Clark of Cresaptown, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Renee Taylor of Westernport.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Friday, March 16th from 1 to 5 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted immediately following the visitation at 5:00 PM, with Deacon Harold Bradley and Chaplain Kevin Lamp officiating.
