Westernport, Maryland

Marlene Cosgrove, 82, of Westernport passed away on June 8, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

Born December 16, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Elmira (Morton) Tipton. She was one of many brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 63 years, Laurence “Pap” Cosgrove; her children, Ray Cosgrove, Susan and Mike McDonald, and James Cosgrove. Marlene was Grandma to Josh and Brooke Cosgrove, Kadi Cosgrove, Kyler Cosgrove, Alex Cosgrove, Walker and Lauren Johnston, and Logan McDonald. Marlene was a Great Grandma to Emma Johnston and Joel Cosgrove.

Marlene was a 1960 graduate of Fort Hill High School. Marlene enjoyed bowling, playing Yahtzee, and enjoying coffee with friends. She had a great sense of humor and was always making her friends laugh. She devoted her life and love into her grandchildren, she supported them and always attended all of their sporting events. Marlene enjoyed going to Savage River Dam with Pap and her loyal loving dog, Buddy Boy.

The Cosgrove family takes comfort knowing that her nephew, C.L. Tipton was waiting to escort her to Heaven.

Marlene will be cremated and no services will take place.

The Cosgrove family would like to especially thank Hospice of Garrett County for the excellent care they showed Marlene and her family.

A special thank you to Peg and Beaver Boal for their many years of friendship and comfort they brought to the entire family.
