Margaret Laura Moon

Maragaret Laura Moon, 75 of Oakland, died at the home of Myron K. and Tina M. Martin in Westernport on May 12, 2026.

Born on May 12, 1951 in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Leo S. Sr. and Hagar D. (Weicht) Tichinel. She is also preceded in death by her late husband, Luther W. Moon, Sr.; and her daughter, Angela Laura Tichinel.

Marge was a member of the Kurtz Chapel Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She took great pride in taking care of her home and tending to her flower gardens. Maragaret loved spending time with her dog Moomoo and feeding the neighbors horse Maribelle apples.

Marge is survived by her four children, Tina M. Martin and husband Myron, Luther W. Moon Jr. and wife Denise, Cheryl E. Moon and companion Dave Crawford; and James E. Moon and companion Lee Ann Wilcox; grandchildren, Myron Martin and wife Megan, Ryan Martin and wife Destiney, Tiffany Martin, Katlyn Shreve and husband Taylor, Dustin Werdebaugh, Nichole Fegurson and companion Bo, Brooke Ferguson and companion Nick, and Kamryn Miller; and fourteen great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received at the Walnut Bottom Assembly of God, Walnut Bottom Road, Swanton, on Friday, May 15th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. with her brother Pastor George H. Tichinel and Pastor Barb Rexroad officiating.

Interment will be at Turner Cemetery, Walnut Bottom Road, Swanton.
