Margaret Ruth (Harris) Cheshire, 89, passed into her heavenly home from Moran Manor on Saturday, August 9, 2014.

Born on July 23, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Margaret (Crawford) and Harry Harris.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Cheshire and her brother, Robert Harris of Frostburg.

She was a devoted mother to eleven children.  Surviving are children, Donna (Richard) Junkins of Keyser, WV, Sharon Fletcher of Harrisburg, PA, Gary (Christa) Cheshire, Tom (Rosalind) Cheshire, Richard (Sally) all of Westernport, Susan Cheshire of Charleston, WV, James (Sandy) Cheshire of Grafton, WV, Melissa Saville, Kevin (Cathy) Cheshire of Poca, WV, Saundra Brotemarkle and Penny Hott.  She is also survived by twenty six grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Born in Wheeling, WV, “Ruth” became a resident of Westernport when her parents moved to Green St.  She met and fell in love with John Cheshire and they were married on October 2, 1941.  She lived in that area until she moved to Grand View Apartments.  After many years she moved to Moran Manor where she was residing until her passing.

She became involved in Westernport P.T.A. with her children in elementary school and she was a member of Christ Memorial Baptist Church on Roosevelt St in Westernport.  During her years raising the children she joined the Homemakers Club in Westernport which her mother belonged to.  She was also a devoted reader of a variety of books that she liked to share with everyone.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Sunday from 7 to 9 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Monday at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Steven Grimes officiating.

Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
