Margaret Ashby Dennison

Margaret E. Ashby Dennison, 91, of McKinley St, Westernport, passed away Saturday August 18, 2018 at Piney Valley, Keyser, WV.

Born January 22, 1927 in Swanton, she was the daughter of the late William L. and Lena E. (Grove) Otto.  She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Bruce A. Ashby in 1998 and her second husband, John “Bud” Dennison in 2004, four brothers, Louis, Fred, William and Harvey Otto, and six sisters, Ethelwyn Riley, Mary Valentine, Nina Otto, Elsie Aronhalt, Ruby DeWitt and Buelah Otto.  Marge was the last survivor of her immediate family.

Marge retired from Mead-Westvaco with 40 years of service, having worked in the finishing department.  She is a member of the Westernport Church of the Brethren, a member of the former Bethlehem Chapter 14 Order of Eastern Star Westernport.

Marge cherished her family, especially her grandchildren.  She was a loving and generous mother, grandmother, friend and neighbor, always there with a helping hand and kind word of encouragement.  She leaves behind a legacy of God’s goodness and love.

She is survived by her son, William H. Ashby and wife Linda of Swanton, two grandsons, Chase Ashby and wife Lacie of Swanton, Tyler Ashby of Arlington, VA, great grandchildren, Luke Remington Ashby and Cassidy Rose Ashby both of Swanton.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Monday from 3 to 7 PM.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Westernport Church of the Brethren on Tuesday at 11:00 AM, with Rev. William Shimer officiating.

Interment will be in Garrett Memorial Gardens, Oakland.
