Madeline Louvice Miller, 91 years old, 22608 Horse Rock Road, Westernport, died October 21, 2014 at Moran Manor Nursing Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Madeline was born May 10, 1923, in a small coal community of Redstone Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late James Oliver Statton Armold and Anna Loretta Stine Armold.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Cecil Miller, January 18, 1978. Also preceding her in death were her three sisters, Eva Marie Trout, Nellie Nicholson and Margaret Riggleman, and two brothers, James Bernard (Boots) Armold and Walter Dayton Armold (Arnold). She was the last survivor of her immediate family.
Madeline created beautiful works of crochet gifting them to her family and friends, was an avid reader, and a whiz at crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She liked to travel, enjoyed nature and eating out.
She is survived by five daughters, Sally Darlene Atkinson and husband, Hugh, of Lonaconing, Linda Lee Miller, of Westernport, Sandra Kay Wade and husband David, of Westernport, Ellen Marie CoWatch and husband, Joe of Woodbine, Georgia and Melissa Sue Broadwater and husband, Gary, of Mill Run. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, Julie Shillingburg, Linda Brown, Allison Shaffer, Robert Friend, David Friend, Bethany Ternent, Melanie Burgess, Kenny Wade, Stephanie Smith, Becki Cowatch, Jennifer Suesse, Gary Broadwater Jr. and Shannon Broadwater; 23 great grandchildren, three great, great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, David Riggleman and wife Shirley, and her good friend Faye Orndoff.
At her request, there will be no public viewing or funeral. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Miller Family Cemetery, Stoney Run, Westernport.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
