Lori Elizabeth Grove, 33, of Eagle Lane, passed away at her home on August 2, 2013.

She was born December 29, 1979 in Cumberland, MD, the daughter of William Thomas Grove of Keyser, and the late Anita (Calemine) Grove.  She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, her paternal grandparents, Thomas and Louise Grove, her maternal grandfather, Mickey Calemine, and her uncle, James Calemine.

In addition to her father, and his special friend, Marlene McGee, Lori is survived by her brother, Thomas Vincent Grove of Akron, OH and his sons, Christopher Grove of Nashville, TN, and Alec Grove of Akron, OH, her sister, Julie Walls and husband Richard and Julie’s sons, Dylan, Tyler and Logan Stump of Myrtle Beach, SC.  From the time they were born, Lori had a special love for her five nephews.  Lori is also survived by her grandmother, Colleen Calemine of Keyser, her aunt, Rosalee Freeman and husband Ron of Keyser, and their daughter, Melanie Gruber and husband Jeff of Myrtle Beach, SC, and her great uncle, Herman Wise of Keyser.  She also leaves behind her aunt, Pam Calemine of Stephens City, VA, and her children, Jessica Calemine of Myrtle Beach, SC, Angela Braithwaite and husband Jason of Stephens City, VA, and Veronica Calemine of Wilmington, NC.
Lori attended Keyser High School and later received her GED.  Lori loved sports and enjoyed bowling, basketball, and softball.  She earned a black belt in karate.  She has been remembered as “a fierce competitor at anything she did.”  At the time of her death Lori was employed with the West Virginia Choice Program.

Lori will be greatly missed for her kind heart by her family and friends.  Her friends have commented on Facebook by saying, “Lori will always be in their hearts and never far from mind”, “that things were never dull with her around and that is one of the reasons she was loved”, and “that no matter what she was going through, Lori always had time to lift someone up.”  Her aunt Pam summed it up well by saying, “May she finally be at peace and walking in the light with her mom.”

There will be no visitation.  A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Assumption Catholic Church, James St, Keyser, on Tuesday, August 6th at 10:00 AM, with Father Ivan Lebar as celebrant.

Inurnment will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Keyser.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions directed to the Mineral County Library would be appreciated.
