Lola Carr

Lola Virginia Carr, 82, of Roosevelt St, Westernport, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at her residence.

Born November 29, 1935 in Sierra Leone, West Africa, she was the daughter of Lloyd and Lela (Gipson) Bowman.  She was also preceded in death by her husband and love of her life Pastor William Carr, a brother, Lee Bowman, a sister, Lois Bowman.

Lola was a stay at home mother taking care of her family.  She was a graduate of Bob Jones University.  A pastor’s wife for almost 60 years, she played piano for 3 generations of family pastors.  She was also proficient with four other instruments; organ, flute, piccolo, and violin. She was a member of Bruce Outreach Center, Westernport.

She leaves behind sons, Pastor Scott Carr Sr. (Wanda), Bridgeton, NJ, Pastor Steffan Carr (Leslie), Westernport, a daughter, Sharon Carr, Westernport, four grandchildren, Scott Carr Jr., Joanna Carr, Alisha Carr and Melody Carr and many other family and friends who considered her their mother, grandmother and mentor.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Sunday, February 18th from 5 to 8 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted at Bruce Outreach Center, Westernport, on Monday February 19th at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Scott Carr Sr. and Pastor Steffan Carr officiating.  Friends will be received at the Bruce Outreach Center on Monday from 10 to 11 AM.

Interment will be in Mt. View Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
