Lois Jean MacDonald, 80, of Horserock Road, Westernport, passed away Monday, August 13, 2012 at Frostburg.

Born December 25, 1931 in Barton, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Ethel (Michael) Kyle.  She was also preceded in death by three brothers, E. Kenneth Kyle, Wayne Robert Kyle, Raymond Edward Kyle, and one sister, Anna J. Grove.

Mrs. MacDonald was a graduate of Barton High School.  She was a homemaker.

She leaves behind her husband of 61 years, Ramsey MacDonald, two sons, Mike MacDonald and wife Janie of Westernport, Scott MacDonald and wife Sandal of Augusta, WV, three brothers, Rev. Alvin Kyle of Frostburg, Roy William Kyle and wife Dot of Barton, Rev. James Kyle and wife Carol of Ohio, three sisters, Betty Lee Miller of Barton, Doris Elaine Metz and husband Paul of Barton, and E. Marie Skidmore of Barton.  She is also survived by four grandchildren, Michael MacDonald, Kristy MacDonald, Misty Thomas, and Katlynn MacDonald, and two great grandchildren, Ashton Thomas and Mychaela MacDonald.

As per Mrs. MacDonald’s wishes, her body was cremated.

A memorial service will be conducted at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Friday at 1:00 PM, with Rev. James Kyle officiating.

Friends and family will be received on Friday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Tri-Towns Rescue Squad, or the Potomac Fire Company, both of Main St, Westernport, or the Virginia German Shepherd Rescue, PO Box 126, Sterling, VA  20167.

The family would also like to extend a special thanks to Dawn Wolfe for her love and support during this difficult time.
