Kathleen Virginia Neat, 91, of Barton, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Egle Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born February 25, 1933, in Midland, she was the daughter of Irene (Wattenschaidt) and Herbert Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Neat, son Thomas “Tommy” Neat 11 and sisters Ruth Gilpin and Dorothy Workman.
Kathleen graduated from Central High School (1951) and Catherman’s Business School. She was employed at ABL as a secretary until becoming a homemaker in 1959. A longtime faithful member of Barton Presbyterian Church, Kathleen sang in the choir and served in numerous capacities there.
She enjoyed fishing and camping with her family at their cabin on the South Branch. Kathy and Tom loved to travel after his retirement. She was an avid Bingo player as well.
Kathleen is survived by one son, Charles L. Neat; grandson, Lee Neat (partner Amy Dye); granddaughter, Ashley Neat and great grandson, Sammy Neat. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
A very special thank you is extended to the caring staff at Egle Nursing and Rehab Center. They became a huge part of her family during the past three years. Kathleen enjoyed every activity and outing offered to her while residing there.
Friends and family will be received at Boal Funeral Home in Westernport, MD, on Wednesday, April 3 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. A memorial service will be held immediately following with Pastor Tom Morgan officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Kathleen’s name may be made to the Barton Presbyterian Church or the Egle Nursing and Rehab Activities Unit.
