Joyce Lynn Alexander, 53, of Horserock Road, Westernport, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Born December 18, 1963 in Keyser, WV, she was the daughter of Marguerite (Shillingburg) Fink of Westernport, and the late Donald William Fink.  She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Arnold and Alice Fink, Carl and Helen Shillingburg, and two aunts, Mary Fink and Marie Dubois.

Joyce was a graduate of Bruce High School.  She was a swing manager at the Westernport McDonalds Restuerant.  Joyce was a member of Westernport United Methodist Church, a former member of Tri-Towns EMS, and an associate member of Potomac Fire Company.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking and taking painting classes with her family and friends.

In addition to her mother, Marguerite, she leaves behind her husband, Mark Alexander, a daughter, Jessica Spalding and husband Shawn of Westernport, three sisters, Donna Moore and husband Michael of California, Susie Wall of Westernport, and Michelle Fink-Jenkins and husband Greg of Luke.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kambria and Kolton Spalding, special nieces, Maranda Mowbray and Erica VanMeter, nephews, Travis Wall and Zach Hopkins, and numerous other nieces and nephews, along with a special friend, Diana Dayton and her special cat, Max.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Wednesday, March 29th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Thursday, March 30th at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Sandy Cowan and Deacon Harold Bradley officiating.

Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Potomac Fire Company, Westernport.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Western Maryland Health System’s Intensive Care Unit for the care given to Joyce during her stay there.
