Joy Sue Harvey

Joy Sue Harvey, 84, of Bloomington went to be with the Lord on June 6, 2024 at Keyser Healthcare Center.

Born March 3, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Orville Dawson and Evelyn (Michael) Hanlin. She was also preceded in death by her late husband, Donald Harvey, infant daughter; Teri Lynn Harvey, son-in-law Donald Wilson.

Joy was a homemaker.  She was a member of Westernport Assembly of God Church where she was actively involved in teaching Sunday School, MOPS, helping in the nursery, and decorating.  Joy was a member of the Bloomington Fire Department Lady’s Auxiliary.  She loved cats and going to the beach.   Above all, Joy loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  

Joy is survived by her daughters, Debbie Moats and husband, David of Keyser, WV, Denise Wilson of Rawlings, and Dawn Saweikis and husband Tony of Rawlings. Sister, Judy Carden and husband Eddie Hampton Virginia, Grandchildren, Joshua Andrews, Jeremiah Moats, Jonathan Moats and fiancée, Adrianna Fleming, Joseph Moats, Kayla McCullough and husband, T.J., A.J. Saweikis and wife, Karlee and Anna Saweikis.  She is survived by nine great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Tuesday, June 11^th from 4pm to 8pm. 

A funeral service will take place at Westernport Assembly of God on Wednesday June 12^th at 11:00 am with Pastor Greg Hammond officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior at the church.  

Interment will be in the Maryland Veteran Cemetery, Rocky Gap, Flintstone.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Westernport Assembly of God Church.
