Joseph “Wayne” Phillips, 65, of LaVale passed away December 3, 2014. Breathing his first breath in Heaven with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God. No one can imagine what Gad has prepared for his children! Today, starts his eternal journey in peace, love and joy unspeakable. What LOVE!

Born on November 25, 1949 in Barton, he was the son of the late Melvin E. Phillips. In addition to his dad, he was preceded in death by his brother, Melvin “Lee” Phillips and a nephew, Kevin Phillips.

He retired from Allegany County Utilities Division as 5-A Operator/Supervisor of Georges Creek W.W.T.Plant.

After graduating in 1967 from Valley High School, he marred Lena Mae (Lambert) Phillips, his wife for 47 years. They have two very special and beloved sons, Christopher Wayne Phillips and special friend Terri Newlin of Midland, and David Alan Phillips and wife Faith, his special daughter-in-law, of Frostburg.

He is survived by five Grandchildren, Tisha Marie Phillips, David Wayne Phillips and friend April of SC, Bryan Alan Phillips, Rebekah Paige Phillips and Dakota Wayne Phillips. He is also survived by two step grandchildren, Justin Shaffer and wife Diamond and Daniel Shaffer; two step great grandchildren, Cortney and Peyton Shaffer; and a special brother-in-law, Roger W. Lambert and his wife Betty.

Words cannot express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone and many special thanks to; Dr. Sunil Gupta and staff, Dr. Robert Welik and staff, Dr. Micahel Curran, doctors and staff in the ER, ICU, fifth floor HLC, Dialysis staff and RN Chay Crosser, Kim Jackson, Kay. Also, to the doctors and staff at the U. of MD Med. Hospital.

Also, a special thanks to Mark Yoder, Pam Roberson and other co-workers for their concern, support and help.

A very special thanks to all of our special neighbors, friends, Wayne and Donna Steele, Ronald and Sondra Broadwater and others we may have missed.

Lastly, our beloved sons, and Faith and Terri, who loved their Dad so much, they did anything and everything to help us.

At his request, there will be no viewing or visitation.

Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, assisted the family with arrangements.
