Jon Paul R. Daddysman, Sr., born May 24, 1947 in Mineral County, WV. passed away October 16, 2014.  He was a, resident of Cumberland, MD.  Mr. Daddysman was the son of Paul R. Daddysman of Westernport, MD. and Violet D. Pettet of Piedmont, WV.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a beloved aunt, Frances E. Pettet of Piedmont and Keyser, WV, and his sister Frances Hope Wells and husband George of Arlington, VA. and Dagsboro, DE.  He is survived by his sons, Jon Daddysman, Jr. and wife Nora of Westernport and Jason A. Daddysman of Rawlings, MD., three granddaughters, Jenna R. Daddysman of Rawlings, and Taylor M. and Jessica D. Daddysman, step-granddaughter, Felicia Calhoun and David, step-grandson Randy Walters of Piedmont, step-great grandchildren Hailey Walters, Caleab Walters & Christopher Walters of Mountain Lake Park, Maddie Calhoun & Wyatt Calhoun of Terra Alta,WV, and first-cousin, Sue Thomas Gearhart and husband David of Myrtle Beach, SC.

Mr. Daddysman was raised in Westernport, graduating from Bruce High School in 1965.  He received an AA degree from Allegany Community College in 1967, a BA from Frostburg State College in 1969, and a Masters Certification from the George Washington University in 1991.  During his working career he served as Department Executive with Kate Greenaway Company of Harrisburg, PA, Corporate Manager of Industrial Engineering with Reading Industries, Reading, PA, and Chief Industrial Engineer with the Pfaltzgraff Company of York, PA.  In 1981, he joined BMY Company, later United Defense (BAE Systems) in York, PA, serving as Manager of Industrial Engineering, Chief Project Engineer, and Manager of Operations Research and Cost Analysis, retiring in 2005.  During his tenure with United Defense, he served as the Company’s Industrial-Preparedness Officer and as Operations member of the Future-Business Planning committee.

During his retired years, Paul was an avid trivia player and genealogist.  His hereditary society memberships include the Society of the War of 1812 in Maryland, General Society Sons of the Revolution, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, Sons of the American Revolution, Sons of Confederate Veterans, Order of Americans of Armorial Ancestry, Society of Sons of the American Colonists, Dutch Colonial Society, Point Lookout POW Organization, Sons and Daughters of the Colonial and Antebellum Bench and Bar, Sons and Daughters of Colonial and Antebellum Planters, Guild of Colonial Artisans and Tradesmen, Descendants of Sheriffs and Constables of Colonial and Antebellum America, and a Charter member of the Order of the Founders of North America.  Paul was also a member of the Dehaven Club, the Westernport Heritage Society, the Genealogical Society of Allegany County, and was a Perpetual Sponsor of the Hereditary Society Community of the United States.

Family and Friends will be received at Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Monday, October 20, 2014 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm.  A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Philos Cemetery, Westernport at 1:00 pm with Rev. Steve Grimes officiating.
