John Marvin Fisher, 79 of 421 Hammond St, Westernport, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Moran Manor Nursing Center, Westernport, where he had been a resident.
Born January 25, 1934 in Westernport, he was the son of the late Leslie Henry and Loretta Lucille (Gentry) Fisher. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert L. Fisher.
John was a United States Army Veteran, having served during the Korean War. He was well known for being the projectionist in various movie theaters throughout the surrounding area. He held life memberships in both Queens Point V.F.W. #6775, McCoole, and Victory Post #155 American Legion, Westernport.
He leaves behind a brother, Eugene “Gene” Fisher and wife Alice of Keyser, WV, a sister, Shirley Berg of Keyser, WV, and a sister-in-law, Barbara Fisher of Westernport.
At John’s request, his body was cremated. There will be no visitation or services.
Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, is in charge of arrangements.
