Joan Elizabeth Cameron, 79, of Westernport was welcomed into Heaven on November 9, 2015. She passed away surrounded by loved ones in her daughter’s home in Winchester, VA.

Born in Westernport on February 15, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Chester Miller and Rosie Ellen Miller. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, David Mackey Cameron. Her treasured siblings, Allen William Miller of Baltimore, Gladys Marie Porter Cavallone of North Carolina and Bonnie Louise Wright of Baltimore also preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by three brother-in-laws, John Cavallone, Marvin Smith and Dick Crawford.

Joan is survived by one son, David Ricky Cameron of Westernport; two daughters, Tamala Joan Schramm and husband Kenny of Winchester, VA and Joy Kay Michael and husband Rex of Winchester, VA. She is also survived by her twin sister, June Catherine Smith of Michigan and sister Ruby May Sutherland and husband Calvin of Florida, a brother-in-law, Ralph Wright of Frostburg and a sister-in-law, Carol Lee Crawford of Lonaconing. A loving grandmother and great-grandmother she leaves behind seven grandchildren, Amanda Wagoner, Daniel Schramm, Ashley Saville, Joshua Cameron, Heather Michael, Briann Rainey, Brittany Schramm, and eight great-grandchildren; Emma, Matthew and Elizabeth Wagoner, Scarlett and Aaron Cameron, Khloe Saville, Maddox Cameron and Olivia Schramm.

Joan was a loving and proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She took pride in caring for her home and family. She was a member of Christ Memorial Baptist Church for 40 years. Joan worked at Deer Park Garment Manufacturing as a seamstress. She also worked in the cafeterias at Westernport Elementary and McCoole Elementary.

Quick as a flash of lightening, angels surrounded her and carried her glorified body through the portals of glory, through pearly gates, and straight into the arms of Jesus. Joan faced her Savior and He said, “Enter good and faithful servant. You fought a good fight and the race is won! You are an heir and joint heir to the throne of God.”

Family and friends will be received at Christ Memorial Baptist Church, Westernport on Friday, November 13, 2015 from 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held at Christ Memorial Baptist Church on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Rick High officiating.

Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
