Jenny Brashear

Jenny Althea Brashear, 95, of Arnold Lane, Westernport, passed away Monday, May 12, 2014 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland.

Born January 24, 1919 in Barton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Dye) Inskeep.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Manley “Tick” Brashear, and two brothers, Nelson “Buddy” Inskeep and Joseph “Pepper” Inskeep.

Althea was a homemaker.  She was a member of Victory Unit #155 Ladies Auxiliary.

She leaves behind a daughter, Joanna Zacari and grandchildren, Henica and Helena Zacari and great grandchildren, Adrianna Grogan, Kaio Grogan, and Cruz Haywood, a daughter, Patricia Metz and husband Paul and grandchildren, Gary Metz, Glendale Metz, India Metz and great grandchildren, Hannah Metz, and Sydney Metz.

At Althea’s request, she was cremated.

A memorial service will be conducted at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Saturday, May 17th at 1:00 PM.  Friends and family will be received one hour prior to service from 12:00 to 1:00 PM.

Interment will be held at a later date at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Rocky Gap.
