Jean Kady

Westernport, MD

Jean Eleanor Kady, 86, of Moran Manor Nursing Center, Westernport, formerly of Beryl, Piedmont and Keyser, WV, passed away Monday, September 12, 2016 at the nursing center.

Born May 10, 1930 in Garrett County, she was the daughter of the late Carl Frederick and Hazel Bernadine (Kerns) Hinebaugh.  She was also preceded in death by her husband in 1975, Patrick Marvin Kady Sr., a son, Patrick “Butch” Kady Jr., and a grandson, Justin Drew Kady.

Mrs. Kady’s greatest love was her family and she gave love unselfishly to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was a homemaker and a devoted sister and caregiver to her brother Sonny.  She also worked part-time as a babysitter, private sitter and cook at McRobie’s Food-A-Rama in Piedmont, WV.  She was an avid bingo player, frequenting the McCoole and Hi Rock bingo games.  “Jeanie” enjoyed to read and do crossword puzzles.  She was a member of Piedmont Presbyterian Church.

She leaves behind her children, Lena Beckman and husband James of Swanton, John “Chick” Kady and wife Nancy of Short Gap, WV, Rodney Kady of Piedmont, WV, Patty Sites and husband Rudy of Keyser, WV, Terry “TI” Kady of Piedmont, WV, and Sherry Beavers and husband Allen of Keyser, WV.  She is also survived by her brothers, Freddie Hinebaugh of Morgantown, WV, Robert “Sonny” Hinebaugh of Moran Manor Nursing Center, a sister, Wanda Greene of Deer Park, fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Thursday, September 15th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Friday, September 16th at 11:00 AM, with Pastor William Kady and Pastor Carl Lee officiating.

Private interment will be at Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, WV at a later date.
