Jason Michael Green, 46, of San Diego and formerly of Keyser, WV and Luke, MD passed away on September 26, 2023 after an eight-year battle with two cancers. Tough and determined, Jason never gave up.
Born June 15, 1977, he was the son of Paula Ward and Jeff of Luke, MD and Dennis Green and Kathy Jo of Green Spring, WV. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jo Chevalier, Robert and Louise Chevalier, and Bill and Helen Ward; his paternal grandparents, Dorothy Pase and Joseph “Joe” Green; and his aunt’s Reberta Stanford, Martha Myers, and Ginny Poland.
Jason, a humble intellectual, learned from the world’s finest thinkers, reading classics by Jane Austen, Faulkner and Hemmingway. He had many books on ethics and world religions, along with non-fiction Philosophy. Jason enjoyed music and the precious time spent with his family.
Jason treated everyone with kindness. During his illness, even on the worst days, he cared for others and was sure to ask how everyone else was doing, he was selfless. This was the Jason that will be loved until our own life ends.
Along with parents, Jason is also survived by his wife, Kristin Tennesen of San Diego; sisters, Shea-Mikal Green of Romney, WV, and Kelsey Heavener and Nathan of Romney, WV. Jason was the fun uncle to his nephew, Easton Stevens of Las Vegas, NV, and niece, Maudi Wren of Romney, WV.
In accordance with his wishes Jason was cremated.
“Death seems so cruel, so purposeless. But it is death which alerts us to life.” Grief prods us to do better, to be better and with this loss, all who have known Jason must strive to be more like him.
