James Ziler

Cumberland, MD.

James L. “Zuke” Ziler, 55, of 522 Maryland Ave, Cumberland, formerly of Westernport, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland.

Born March 3, 1956 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late James L. Ziler SR, and the late Shirley (Mayhew) Ziler Liller.  Two sisters, Rhonda K. and Idabelle Ziler, also preceded him in death.

“Zuke” attended Bruce High School, Westernport.  He was a United States Army Veteran, having served from 1974 to 1975.  He was a member of Post #13 American Legion, Cumberland, and a former member of Victory Post #155 American Legion, Westernport.

He leaves behind his life long companion, Patty Dye, four daughters, Chasity Deberry and husband Meredith of WV, Caitlin Ziler of Cumberland, Jessica Hanlin and husband Jake of Cumberland, Janice Abernathy and companion Josiah Miller of Piedmont, WV, a step son, Matthew Ford and wife Christina of Cumberland, three step daughters, Krystal Kanpp of Cumberland, April Logsdon and husband Colby of Hawaii, Betty Dye of Cumberland, two brothers, Milburn W. Ziler of Westernport, Timothy A. Ziler and companion Brenda of Keyser, WV, and three granddaughters, MaKyah Logsdon, SkyLynn Ford, and Nevah Hanlin.

The family will receive friends at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Friday at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Butch Wright officiating.

Interment will be in Bloomington Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded at graveside by the Post 13 Veteran Honor Guard.
