James Richard “Little Rick” Mills, 63, of Piedmont, passed away early morning Tuesday, March 5, 2019.

Ricky was born October 25, 1955 in Baltimore, MD, the son of the late Norma Jean (Mills) Fickes.  He was raised by his grandmother, the late Goldie Mills.

Ricky was a graduate of Piedmont High School.  He had training at James Rasmey, WV Services in hunting and plumbing at Mineral County Vo-Tech. He attended Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont, WV, where he participated in the Monday craft group, bargain basement, soup sales, Trinity-Waldon Men’s Group, distributed flyers for the church and sang with the Trinity Treasures at Moran Manor.  He was previously employed as a circus operator and more recently was Dale Clark’s “right hand man” for approximately twelve years. He was the only one that could walk right under the dump trucks to service them.  Ricky was known by all in the Tri-Towns and is survived by many friends.

At his request his body was donated the WV Human Gift Registry.

A memorial service will be conducted at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Jones St, Piedmont, WV, on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 6:00 PM, with Rev. Marybeth Chien officiating.
