Jack G. Gambini, 87, passed away January 11th, 2017 at his home in New Creek, surrounded by his family.

Born in Old Forge, PA, he was the son of the late James and Elizabeth Gambini. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother James and wife Margaret.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Susan; his daughter, Linda; grandsons Justin and wife Courtney, and Nathan and wife Kelsey; his son, Tom and wife Nancy; his son, Dave and wife Debbie; and his granddaughter Mattea. He is also survived by his nephews, Jim and wife Wendy and John; his nieces Beth and husband Charles and Toni; and several cousins.

Jack served his God, Country and Community. He served six years in the US Air Force during the Korean War from 1947-1953. He was a member of the Westernport United Methodist Church, where he served many years as a Trustee. He was a charter member of the New Creek Fire Department, he served as their first Secretary. Jack served 28 years as a volunteer Board Member for the New Creek Water Association as President and Vice President. After 39 years, Jack retired from Westvaco. He began his career in the Labor Department and retired as the Supervisor in the Automatic Finishing Department. Jack held memberships in Hiram Lodge A.M.F.M. 103, Westernport, MD, Ali Ghan Shriners, Cumberland, MD, Scottish Rite, Cumberland, MD, York Rite, Keyser and the American Legion, Keyser.

Family and friends will be greeted at the Westernport United Methodist Church, 434 Vine Street on Saturday, January 14th from 1 to 2 pm. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Sandy Cowan officiating.

Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport, MD.

Jack’s family would like to extend their gratitude to all whom extended their attentiveness and loving care.
