Inez “June” (Morris) Everline Haines, 89, of Westernport, died Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at Potomac Valley Hospital in Keyser, WV.
Born June 13, 1926, in Westernport, she was the daughter of the late Hugh R. Morris and Mary Eva (Bradley) Morris. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John C. Everline, in 1964, and Harold R. Haines in 2001, as well as her beloved son, Timothy S. Everline, in 2006. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Thomas Morris, Richard Morris, Mary “Womey” Dunnivan, Susie Mihok, Elmer Morris, John Morris, and an infant sister.
June attended Bruce High School in Westernport, where she played basketball. She was employed at Kelly Springfield for 6 years, and as a cafeteria worker for the Allegany County Board of Education at Bruce High School, and later Westmar Middle School, for over 30 years. She was a lifetime member of the McCoole VFW, and a charter member of Christ Memorial Baptist Church in Westernport.
Affectionately known as “Mom-Mom” by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, June was dedicated above all else to her family. She supported every sporting event, school program, and church performance, and was always the first to cheer on her family. June was also an avid New York Yankees fan, especially of Derek Jeter, and still as of this summer questioned many of Joe Girardi’s coaching decisions. She loved gardening in her yard, was an avid bowler, but enjoyed most the time she spent with family and friends.
June is survived by her sons, John Everline and wife Diane of Keyser, Joey Everline and wife Robin of Westernport, and David Everline and wife Cindy of Westernport, in addition to her former daughter-in-law, Barb Gulbronson and husband Charles of Keyser. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Matt Everline and wife Jennifer of Keyser, Luke Everline and wife Courtney of Bruceton Mills, WV, Adrienne Everline and fiancé Michael Royce of Westernport, Krystle Wack and husband Donny of Bedford, PA, Jacob Everline and wife Kacee of Keyser, Davey Everline and wife Faith of Keyser, and Brock Everline of Westernport. In addition, she is survived by five great-grandchildren, Drew and Averi Everline of Keyser, Layton and Colton Everline of Bruceton Mills, and Remy Everline of Keyser.
She is also survived by her siblings, Dolly Harris of Antioch, Jim Morris and wife Joyce of Westernport, sister-in-law Carol Morris of Westernport, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Boal Funeral Home in Westernport on Thursday, October 29 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 30 at 11:00 AM at Christ Memorial Baptist Church in Westernport.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the ALS Association, Western Pennsylvania Chapter, 416 Lincoln Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15209, Christ Memorial Baptist Church, 207 Roosevelt Street, Westernport, or to the Tri-Towns Rescue Squad, 59 Main Street, Westernport, MD 21562.
Her family wishes to thank Tina, Megan, and Tiffany Martin for their care of June for the last year, allowing her to keep her independence as long as possible.
June will be remembered for her strength, courage, generosity, and devotion to her family. Her love will continue to live on in all of those that she touched, and her unwavering faith will remain her legacy. The flower looks up high to see only the light, and never looks down to see its shadow.
