Howard “Bill” Jones, 83, of Detrick Road, Ridgeley, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Moran Manor Nursing Center, Westernport, MD.

Born August 26, 1931 in Westernport, MD, he was the son of the late Howard Orland and Anna Elizabeth (Liller) Jones.  He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine (McKenzie) Jones in 1997, his second wife, Peggy (Bush) Pattison Jones in 2007, and a sister, Peggy Jones.

Mr. Jones was a 1949 graduate of Bruce High School.  He was a United States Army Veteran, having served during the Korean War.  He was previously employed at West Virginia Pulp and Paper Company, Luke, MD, before eventually moving to Winter Haven, FL, and retiring from a distillery company there.  Bill was Methodist by faith and a member of Victory Post #155 American Legion, Westernport, MD.

He leaves behind his sons, Howard L. Jones of Winter Haven, FL, Robert E. Jones of Winchester, VA, William Henry “Pete” Pattison IV and wife Mary of Missouri, Richard Pattison and wife Pat of Smithsburg, MD, Scott Pattison and wife Marilyn of Cumberland, MD, and his daughter and caregiver Melanie Winfield and husband Dave of Ridgeley, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, MD, on Friday from 12 to 2 PM.  A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Mary Aronhalt officiating.

Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Victory Post #155 American Legion, Westernport, MD.
