Hiram W. “John” Baker, 75 of New Creek passed away on October 11, 2016 at Potomac Valley Hospital.
Born March 25, 1941, he was the son of the late Hiram and Hilda (Devilbliss) Baker. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Louise Baker; two infant brothers; three sisters, Betty Muir, Kathryn Kifer, Rayma Fickes and a brother Roger “Buck” Baker.
“John” attended The First Assembly of God Church in Westernport, MD. He was a retired truck driver for Clark Trucking. “John” was a loving husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law and friend.
“John” is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Shirley (Wilt) Baker of New Creek; a son John W. “Jay” Baker and wife April of Piedmont; and the love of his life, his whole world, his granddaughter, Ariel Dawn Baker. He is also survived by a sister, Leona Logsdon and husband Harold of Westernport, MD; a sister-in-law, Wanda Baker of New Creek; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, MD, on Friday, October 14th, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held at The First Assembly of God Church, Westernport, MD on Saturday, October 15th at 1:00 pm with Pastor Greg Hammond officiating.
Interment will be in Sinclair Memorial Park, Cross.
