Hilda Taylor

Hilda B. (Cheshire) Taylor, 92, of Moran Manor Nursing Center, Westernport, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016 at the nursing center.

Born July 20, 1923 in Westernport, she was the daughter of the late John E. Cheshire and the late Elsie V. (Riggleman) Cheshire.  She was also preceded in death by her husband John W. Taylor, a granddaughter, Dawn (Hartman) Rissell, her sisters, Evelyn Lochner, Mildred Flick, Stella Calvert, Mary Frances Butler, and a brother, John E. Cheshire.

She was retired from the Allegany County Library System where she served as a custodian at the Westernport branch of the library.

She leaves behind her four children, Joseph A. “Tony” Taylor and wife Krista of Keyser, WV, Patricia Hartman and husband Charlie of Keyser, WV, Alan Taylor of Keyser, WV, and Valerie Vavro and husband Dave of McKeesport, PA.  She is also survived by her twelve grandchildren, Sherry MacKnight, Cathy Taylor Sentnor, Stefanie Taylor Sanders, Debra Taylor, Lisa Hartman, Linda Hartman Wright, John Hartman, David Vavro II, Heather Vavro Grove, Lindsey Herlinger, Justin Taylor, and Brooke Taylor Wood, seventeen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 1 PM to 3 PM.

A funeral service will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at the funeral home, with Father Bill Matheny Jr. officiating.

Interment will be in St. Peters Cemetery, Westernport.
