Helen Carol Ravenscroft, 75, formerly of Westernport, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Frostburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where she had been a resident.
She was born in Westernport at home on the family farm on August 15, 1941, daughter of the late Frank Gibson and Agnes May (Riley) Ravenscroft. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Elizabeth “Betty” Lambert, Phyllis Miller, Frank Ravenscroft, and Lois Ravenscroft, and a niece, Eileen Fischer.
Helen was a 1960 graduate of Bruce High School. When asked what her ambition was for her yearbook page, she replied that it was, “to be a good Christian”. She was a homemaker and Baptist by faith.
She leaves behind her nieces and nephews, Judy Reynolds, Carl Miller, Kathy Kight, Mark Ravenscroft, Kenny Miller and Karen Perkins.
Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Friday, February 3, 2017 from noon to 1 PM. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Gary Morris officiating.
Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
