Harry Joseph “Sonny” Ahern Sr., 67, of Swanton, passed away August 7, 2013 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
He was born on January 6, 1946 in Westernport, the son of the late Carlton and Sarah Mae (Raines) Ahern. He was preceded in death by a son Danny Ahern.
“Sonny” is survived by his wife, Sandra (Duckworth) Ahern, Swanton; two daughters, Tammy Martin and husband Bucky, Romney, WV, Melissa Haggerty and fiancé Jay Bittner, Swanton; three sons, Harry Ahern Jr., Swanton, Jeff Ahern and wife Denise, Swanton, Kevin Ahern and special friend Stacy Timbrook, Swanton; eleven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers; Dottie Miller and husband Dick, Westernport, Richard Ahern and wife Dee, Westernport, Orville Ahern, Keyser Fountain, WV, Mike Ahern and wife Janet, Keyser Fountain, WV, Sharon Derlik and husband Jeff, Westernport, Carolyn Durst, Keyser, WV and Patricia Hartman & husband Jim, Keyser, WV. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received at Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Saturday, August 10th from 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be conducted after the visitation at 8:00 PM with Deacon Elwood Davis officiating.
