Geraldine Michael

Geraldine Ellen Michael, 95 of Westernport passed away on January 29, 2021.

Born January 11, 1926 at Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth Whiteman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Michael; her sons, James Edward Michael and Dennis Lee Michael; her infant sister, Ruth Ann Whiteman; her Aunt that helped in raising her, Helen Broadwater; a special niece, Mary Ann Michael; and several cousins.

Geraldine was once employed with the Celanese Fiber Company, where she met the love of her life, Eddie Michael. She was previously a dispatcher for the Tri-Towns Rescue Squad. Geraldine raised her four children and was the caretaker for her husband, Eddie and son, Dennis when they were ill. She also cared for Emmy, Brittany and Dustin.

Geraldine is survived by her children, Stephen Michael of Westernport, who took care of her for years, and Dale Michael of Massachusetts; grandson, Rusty Michael of Oakland; cousins, Colleen Fisher and Betty Ann; sister-in-law, Dot Michael; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and her beloved cats. She loved her family fiercely and unconditionally.

A special thanks to Brenda Cook and her family for the years of compassionate help and assistance with our Mom. Also, a special thanks to caretakers and staff at Oakland Rehab and Nursing Center and Ruby Memorial Hospital for their efforts, care and compassion towards our Mom.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Boal Funeral Home, Westernport from 2 to 4 p.m.

Interment will be at Green Cemetery, Lonaconing.
