Gerald F. Shillingburg, 70, of Keyser, loving husband and father, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland, MD.
Born August 1, 1945 in Beryl, he was the son of the late Paul and Wanda (Beavers) Shillingburg. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ada Everett and Nancy Hotchkiss.
Gerald was a graduate of Piedmont High School. He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church, Keyser. He retired from the power center of Westvaco Corp, with 35 years of service. Gerald was a United States Army Veteran.
He leaves behind his wife, Antoinette (Mancino) Shillingburg, four children, Jerry Shillingburg and wife Beverly of Keyser, Sam Shillingburg and wife Linda of Hunlock Creek, PA, Joe Shillingburg and wife Trish of Gerrardstown, WV, and Michelle (Shillingburg) Diehl and husband Jeff of Boise, Idaho. He is also survived by five brothers and sisters, Mike Shillingburg, Jim Shillingburg, Billy Shillingburg, Wana “Pete” Riggins, and Catherine “Kack” Bennett, along with eight grandchildren.
Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, MD, on Sunday, September 6th from 6 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Assumption Catholic Church, Keyser, on Monday, September 7th at 10:30 AM, with Father William K. Matheny Jr. as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Keyser.
