George Haven East

George Haven East, 79 of Pine Swamp Road, Barton passed away on June 27, 2025 at UPMC Western Maryland.

Born June 7, 1946, he was the son of the late Caleb Thomas East and Myrtle Alene (Davis) East.

A Veteran of the United States military, Haven served his country with honor. Haven’s life was characterized by hard work, devotion to his family, and a passion for the outdoors. He was an avid trap shooter, spending countless hours honing his skills. His fondness for guns and tractors reflected his connection to the farming lifestyle he cherished. Haven will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and those whose lives he touched.

Haven is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Erica East; his children, Rob East and wife Melissa, Sandy Caraballo and husband Lito, Mike East and Todd East and wife Monica. Haven is also survived by twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; his siblings, Tommy East and wife Peggy, Wayne East and wife Judy, Margaret Bennett, and Debbie Lauer and husband Chris; his special canine companion, Brandy; and many loved nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton on Saturday, July 5th from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Haven will be laid to rest at his farm on Pine Swamp Road where a graveside service will take place following the visitation.
