G. Robert “Buck” Buckholtz, 74, of Bloomington passed away on March 18, 2014 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born February 22, 1940, he was the son of the late John Edward Buckholtz Sr. and Myrtle Mae (Jones) Buckholtz. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Jeffrey.
“Buck” was a 1958 graduate of Valley High School. He was retired from Mead-Westvaco as a foreman in finishing trucker-loaders. He was an officer and on the board of the Upper Potomac Rod and Gun Club. “Buck” was an avid hunter, fisherman and reader. He was a great father and grandfather, his grandchildren were the light of his life.
He is survived by his wife Norma Jean (Zais) Buckholtz of Bloomington; a daughter Debbie Moore and husband Tom of Keyser; a son Scott Buckholtz and wife Keely of Westernport; grandchildren, Carrie Willison and Matt of Westernport, Paige Buckholtz of Hartmansville, WV, and Robbie Buckholtz of Keyser, WV; and great grandchildren and the light of his life, Nataleigh Johnson and Haleigh Johnson. He is also survived by his siblings John Edward Buckholtz and wife Pearl of Lonaconing and Florence “Fuzzy” Johnson of Barton.
Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Friday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 1:00 pm with Rev. Mike Goldizen officiating.
Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, WV.
