Gary Angle

Gary W. Angle, 66, of Westernport, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017 at his home following a long illness.

Born May 17, 1950 in Frostburg, he was the son of the late William F. and Hazel E. (Arnold) Angle.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Angle.

Gary attended St. Peters Catholic School in Westernport and was a 1968 graduate of Bruce High School, where he excelled in baseball.  During the Vietnam War, he served his country in the United States Army while stationed in Germany.  He attended Towson State University and later earned a Bachelor Degree at Frostburg State University.  He was previously employed by area businesses in the field of accounting.

He was a member of the Piedmont American Legion, where he enjoyed the comradery and friendship of the fellow Legionnaires.  He awaited eagerly for his yearly gardening and took pride in his flowers and vegetable plants.  He was an avid reader and cheered for the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles.

Gary was devoted to being a loving and caring father to his only daughter, Kimberly.  He will be missed for his genuine and unique insights on life.

Gary is survived by his close and loving companion Connie Spiker, a daughter, Kimberly Angle of Florida, his brother Mark Angle and wife Cheryl of Oakland, a sister, Cathy Zinn and husband Arthur of Keyser, WV, three nephews, Jonathan Angle of Keyser, WV, Mark and Daniel Zinn both of Morgantown, WV, and Connie’s children, Billy Jo Spiker and wife Michelle of Piedmont, WV, Bonnie Mayhew and husband Ray of Mississippi, and his special feline friend, Lincoln.

The family wishes a wholehearted thank you to Rose and Mark Hitt, Linda and Wayne Stephens, and Melvin and Judy Spiker for their love and care of Gary.

At Gary’s request there will be a quiet family service.
