Garland "Elwood" Beavers

Garland R. “Elwood” Beavers, 86, formerly of Westernport passed away on August 12, 2022.

Born December 22, 1935 in Hampshire, WV, he was the son of the late Arthur and Pearl (Platter) Beavers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha (Secrist) Beavers, three brothers and two sisters.

Elwood was a United States Army Veteran. He was the owner of the former G&H Grocery store in Piedmont. Elwood enjoyed going to the horse races, the casino and playing poker. He retired from Westvaco after working there for more than 40 years.

Elwood is survived by his children, Elwood Beavers of Cumberland, Allen Beavers and wife Sherry of Keyser, Terry Beavers and wife Donna of Keyser, Tamara Beavers of Cumberland and Richard Beavers and wife Liz of Westernport. He is also survived by grandchildren, Crystal Ayers, Elwood Beavers, Allen Beavers, Jr., Aubrey Beavers, Jessica Beavers Wickline, Shari Beavers James, Aaron Beavers; and great grandchildren, Quynn Ayers, Dustin Ayers, Jaianna Wickline, Khaleesi Wickline, Ragnar Wickline, Kamryn James, Brayden James and Gracelynn James.

In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated and no services will take place.

Mr. Beavers is in the care of Boal Funeral Home, Westernport.
