Fredrick G. Crawford

Fredrick G. “Fred” Crawford, 85 of Scherr, WV passed away on October 15, 2024.

Born September 22, 1939 in Beryl, he was the son of the late James T. and Sarah E. (Metcalfe) Crawford. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ann Crawford; his siblings, Patsy Gardner, Betty Sterling, Jean Wren, Victor Crawford, and James “Bud” Crawford. 

Fred attended the Antioch Church of God and liked attending hymn sings. He enjoyed time spent fishing and hunting, and loved watching the WVU football games. Fred was employed at Potomac State College for 25 years.

Fred is survived by his wife, Debbie (Travis) Crawford; his brothers, Edward Crawford and his wife, Carol of Texas, Darrell Crawford and his wife, Pam of Texas, and Curtis Crawford and his wife, Louise of New Creek; numerous nieces and nephews; his wife’s children, Scott Travis and his wife, Amanda of Maysville and Christine Western and her husband, John of Maysville; and his dog companion, Tyson.

Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Sunday, October 20th from 5 to 8 p.m. 

A funeral service will take place at the funeral home chapel on Monday, October 21st at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Johnny Goldizen officiating. 

Interment will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Westernport.
