Frank John Sowers Sr., 88 of Rawlings went home to be with the Lord on February 9, 2015 at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser.

Born on October 24, 1926 in Beryl, WV, he was the son of the late Howard and Leona (Lynch) Sowers. He is also preceded in death by a sister Margaret Hanna.

Mr. Sowers was a WWII Navy Veteran. He was retired from Westvaco after 43 years. He was a loving husband, father and Pap Pap.

He is survived by his wife, Allene (Kelly) Sowers, who he was with for 75 years, and his two sons, Frank Sowers Jr. and wife Doris of New Creek, WV and David Sowers and wife Kristi of Keyser, WV. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Rusty Sowers and wife Lori and their children Andrew and Violet “Precious”, Brian Sowers, and Bradley Sowers and wife Jessica and their children Leslee, Mckenzie and unborn child Brady. He is also survived by his brother, Bernard Sowers and his wife and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Thursday, February 12, 2015 from 6 to 8 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Friday at 12:00 PM, with Rev. Stephon Reed officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport, MD.
