Frances Irene Hardesty, 92, formerly of Hamill Ave, Bloomington, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 30, 2015.
Born September 27, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Charles Riley Sr. and the late Bessie (Nelson) Riley. She was also preceded in death by her husband William H. Hardesty Sr., a son, Chester Hardesty, her brothers, Charles Jr., LeRoy, and Ernest, and her sisters, Norma Lee, Juanita, and Deloris.
Frances graduated from Kitzmiller High School. She worked at Westvaco and the Celanese during World War II making parachutes for the soldiers. She was also a practical nurse. She was a devoted woman of God, devoted to her family and took care of everyone she loved.
She leaves behind a son, William Hardesty and wife Jeri of Barton, two daughters, Frances Warnick and husband Edward of Corriganville, Gloria Collins and husband William of Grantsville, and a brother, Darl Riley of Bloomington. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and thirteen great-great grandchildren. She also has a very special friend in Marg at Devlin Manor, Cumberland.
Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Saturday, October 3rd from 11 AM to 1 PM. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 PM at the funeral home on Saturday, with Rev. Ronnie Cooper officiating.
Interment will be in Moon Cemetery, Deer Park.
