Frances Ann Clay

Frances A. Clay, 82 of Piedmont passed away on March 17, 2024 at UPMC Western Maryland. 

Born March 22, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Laura (Price) Clay. She was also preceded in death by her infant son, Curt Clay on November 4, 1963; and her siblings, Norma Jean Clay, Russell Clay, Paul Clay, and Luther Clay. 

Frances began working as a seamstress in Keyser and later dedicated her life to the profession of domestic housekeeping, where she displayed unwavering dedication and meticulous care in every task she undertook. Frances was known for her love of walking and exercising, always finding joy in staying active and healthy.  Cooking, sewing, shopping and watching her “stories” and westerns were among her favorite pastimes. One of Frances's greatest joys came from interacting with children, particularly her great nephews and nieces whom she adored. Though she may no longer be with us in person, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Sonya Allen; grandchildren, Dustin Holman, Destinee Holman Caffrey, Dominique Allen, and Domonei Allen; and her great grandchildren, Daniel Holman, Tazaiah Caffrey and Catalina Colon. She is also survived by her siblings, Victor Edward Clay I and his wife Sherrie, Gloria Christine Clay, and Ruth Elaine Clay Redman; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family; and special friends, Maxine Redman and Betty Smith. 

Friends will gather at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Sunday, March 24^th from 3 to 5 p.m.
