Floyd Allen Moore, 64, of Frostburg died on Sunday, September 22, 2013.
Born on December 27, 1948, he was the son of the late Lloyd Allen Moore and Eleanor Grace (Jackson) Moore of Frostburg Village Nursing Home.
Floyd is a United States Navy Veteran, having served from April 1967 to February 1971. He is a member of the Barton United Methodist Church. He is also a member of the Frostburg Farrady Post 24 American Legion and a Life Member of the National Rifle Association. He previously worked at the Kelly Springfield Tire Company. Floyd was a mechanic for the family business, Freedom Trucking LLC. He was recently retired and enjoyed camping with his family and friends. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and sportsman. Floyd was the pillar of the family, always there to give advice and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. He loved working with his hands. He always said, “If a man put it together, I can take it apart and fix it.” Floyd was a dedicated husband, father and pappy. Family was everything to him. If he was ever needed he was always there to lend an ear or a helping hand. He was a great man and will be sadly missed by all.
Along with his mother Eleanor, he is survived by his wife of 44 years, Beverly (Barnard) Moore. He is the proud father of: Floyd Moore Jr. and wife Dawn, Brian Moore and wife Robin, Steve Moore and fiancé Shelby Clark, Chris Moore and wife Julie, Cindy Green and husband Brad. He is also survived by his sister, Diana Snyder and husband Frank, grandsons: Floyd Allen Moore III, Aaron Moore and wife Rachel, Jason Moore, Shane Baer, Noah Merling, Aydin Moore, Isaac Moore, Vance Green; four granddaughters: Elizabeth Ann Moore, Alyson Moore, Kaytlin Moore and Marissa Moore. Floyd was also great grandfather to Jaxon Henry of Barton and Luna Bell Moore of Frostburg.
Friends and Family will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton on Wednesday from 1 to 3 PM and 6 to 9 PM. A funeral service will be held at the Barton United Methodist Church on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Sandy Cowan and Rev. John Park officiating.
Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
