Evelyn Margie Jackson, 77, formerly of Lower Georges Creek Road, Lonaconing, and for the past four years a resident of Egle Nursing and Rehab Center, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday April 14, 2013 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland.

Born August 10, 1935 in Westernport, she was the daughter of the late Garland and Mary (Michael) Grove.  She was also preceded in death by a sister, Blanch Warnick, a brother, Richard L. Grove, and a niece, Delores Baker.

Evelyn was a 1953 graduate of Bruce High School.  She was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Lonaconing.  She grew up serving the Lord at First Assembly of God Church in Westernport, having been the pianist and served in many other capacities.  She had a passion for sharing her love for the Lord and her love for her family. She was a homemaker and a bookkeeper for her husband’s floor covering business for over 40 years.

She leaves behind her husband of 57 years Estel Jackson, a daughter, Margie Beckner and husband Joseph of Lonaconing, a sister, Helen V. Green of Laurel, two grandchildren, Megan Elizabeth Beckner and Aaron Matthew Beckner, a special niece, Bertie “Bobbi” Callahan and husband Andy of Winchester, VA, a special great niece whom Evelyn helped to raise, Melissa (VanMeter) Boober and husband David of Martinsburg, WV, and other nieces and nephews, Kay Lannon, Stacy New, Dianna Snyder, Linda Reichert, Sharon DeVore, Darlene Peretti, Richard Grove, Gary W. Grove, and Floyd Moore.  She is also survived by five sisters-in-laws, Wilma Grove, Averil Martin, Lois Bloom, Eleanor Moore, and Phyllis Davis.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted at the First Assembly of God Church, Lonaconing, on Wednesday at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Robert Whitecotton officiating.  Friends will be received on Wednesday at the church one hour prior to services.

Interment will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Beckner, Chris VanMeter, Brad VanMeter, Richard Lynn Grove, Gary W. Grove, and David Boober.
