Eugene Stewart

Eugene William Stewart, 81, of Paradise St, Midland, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at his residence.

Born June 20, 1935 in Keyser, WV, he was the son of the late Gladys M. (Stewart) Brumage and step father, Henry Brumage.  He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Colleen (Paugh) Stewart.

Mr. Stewart was a graduate of Barton High School, Barton, and attended Terra Tech in Tiffin, OH.  He was a United States Army Veteran, having served during the Korean War from 1958 to 1960.  He was retired from General Electric, having been a machinist.  Mr. Stewart was a member of AMVETS, a member of Barton American Legion #189, the Frostburg Moose and the Korean War Veterans.  He was also a snowbird, wintering in Florida for many years.

He leaves behind his loving second wife whom he married in 1986, Patricia (Stakem) Garrison Stewart, his children, Cindy Fuhrer and husband Jeff of Tiffin, OH, Robin Young and husband Jack of Vine Grove, KY, Walter Garrison and wife Diane of Cranberry Township, PA, Richard Garrison of Capon Bridge, WV, Ann Hixenbaugh and husband Steve of Keyser, WV, and Sharon DeVore and husband Roy of Frostburg.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Caleb Fuhrer, Jacob Fuhrer, Ashley Theis, Susan Anderson, Jennifer and Eugene Rice, Laura DeVore, Roy DeVore, Wayne and Ashley Blocher, James and Misha Garrison, Teresa Garrison, Julie Garrison, Jared Garrison and eight great grandchildren.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Friday, June 9th from 5 to 7 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted at the Boal Chapel on Saturday, June 10th at 11:00 AM, with Roy DeVore and Jeff Fuhrer officiating.  Friends will be received one hour prior to service.

Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, WV, with military honors accorded at graveside.
