Born August 21,1942 he is preceded in death by his parents, Jonas H Kenner and Viola (Riggleman) Kenner; three brothers, Robert “Bob” Kenner, Cecil Kenner and Charlie Kenner; one grandson, Travis Kenner; and his most beloved companion, his dog, “Rex.”
Erwin is survived by his wife, Diane (Bateson) Kenner; two children, David Kenner and wife, Kelli, and Tammy Thomas; two stepchildren, Charity Saweikis and husband, Pastor Joseph, and Jessica Eaton; one brother, Richard Kenner; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Dedicated to his country, Erwin served four years in the United States Air Force and twenty-eight years in the US Army Reserve. He retired from Westvaco after many years of service.
Erwin was an avid fisherman, loved cooking, (especially his famous chili), enjoyed many hours of relaxation overlooking the Savage River Dam from his deck and most of all, taking his buddy Rex for rides in the truck. Known to many as “Sarge” or “Peach”, his smile was as onery as he was and his big personality truly made him one of a kind.
Erwin’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the amazing staff and medical team at Sterling Care Frostburg for their kind, compassionate care.
Honoring Erwin’s request, no services will be held and all arrangements will be handled by Boal Funeral Home of Westernport. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Erwin’s name to the Bloomington Volunteer Fire Department.
