Emogene Beeman, 87, of Honeysuckle Lane, Frostburg, formerly of Barton, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Frostburg Village Nursing Center.
Born September 29, 1927 in Moscow, she was the daughter of the late William Robert and Dora Alma (Andrews) Miller. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alvin G. Beeman Sr., a grandson, Ricky Long III, and a brother, Allan Miller.
Mrs. Beeman worked at the Lonaconing Silk Mill until 1950 when she became a full time homemaker. During her married years Emogene and her husband Alvin loved to travel and saw many states throughout the country. She was Presbyterian by faith. Emogene was a member of Frostburg Farrady Post #24 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of the former Lonaconing American Legion. She loved her friends she made at Frostburg Heights and enjoyed playing bingo with them.
She leaves behind a son, Alvin G. Beeman Jr. of Fayetteville, NC, two daughters, Carol Jean Long and husband Richard Jr of Keyser, WV, Dora Marie Long and companion Dr. Samuel Harshberger, and a sister, Edna Beeman of Kernersville, NC. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Cooper Long of Baltimore, Kevin Beeman of Apex, NC, Tonya Cadematori of Copperas Cove, TX, and five great grandchildren.
Friends and family will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be conducted at the Boal Chapel on Tuesday at 11:00 AM, with Rev. George Harpold officiating.
Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
The family extends thanks for the compassionate care Emogene received while at Frostburg Village Nursing Center and a patient at Western Maryland Health System.
