Elva Jean Roberts, 89, formerly of Maryland Ave, Westernport, passed away Friday, January 27, 2017 at Piney Valley Nursing Center, Keyser, WV, where she had been a resident.
Born August 15, 1927 in Westernport, she was the daughter of the late James William and Elva (DeVore) Roberts.
Jean was a 1945 graduate of Bruce High School and a 1947 graduate of Potomac State College. In her earlier years she had worked for Double Day Publishing Company of Garden City, NY. She was a faithful member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Westernport.
Jean leaves behind several cousins and friends along with a special cousin who cared for her for many years, Carol Wilson of Keyser, WV.
Friends and family will be received at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Westernport, on Monday, January 30th from 11 AM to 1 PM. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 1:00 PM on Monday, with Pastor Sally Bartling officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church of the Tri-Towns Rescue Squad, Westernport.
