Ellsworth Edward Deniker, 83, of Burke Hill Road, Rawlings, passed away Monday, August 28, 2017 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland.

Born January 11, 1934 in Barton, he was the son of the late John Edward and Mary (Mowbray) Deniker.  He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Deniker and Ruth Donald.

Mr. Deniker was a 1952 graduate of Barton High School.  He retired from Westvaco Corp, with an impressive 53 years of service, having worked in the carpenter shop and maintenance.  He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish St. Peters Catholic Church, Westernport.  “Ding” enjoyed camping with his family, and working with his hands, especially carpentry work in which he built his home from the ground up.

He leaves behind his wife, Phyllis (Henry) Deniker, a son, Michael Deniker of Westernport, a daughter, Catherine Deniker of Burlington, WV, a brother, John J. Deniker and wife Shirley of Lonaconing, two sisters, Juanita Bland of Cumberland, Doris Murphy and husband Bill of Barton, a brother-in-law, Carl Donald and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Martha and Patrick McConnell.  He is also survived by grandchild, Candace Marie Lowery and several other step grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Tracy Wilson and Debra Murphy McKenzie.

Friends and family will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, 19006 Legislative Road, Barton, on Thursday, August 31st from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Divine Mercy Parish St. Peters Catholic Church, Westernport, on Friday, September 1st at 11:00 AM with Father Eric Gauchet as celebrant.

Interment will be in St. Peters Cemetery, Westernport.
