Ella Rae Fazenbaker, 89, of Lonaconing, Maryland went to be with her Lord and Saviour from the Western Maryland Health System on July 3, 2014.

Born December 1, 1924 at Dans Mountain, Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late William and Desdemona (Powell) Loar.  She was also preceded in death by her brothers, George, John and Wesley, and by her sisters, Rose Loar, Julia Loar, Anna Loar and Mary Llewellyn.  She was also predeceased by a daughter-in-law Lolita L. Fazenbaker.

Left behind to mourn her are her husband of 64 years, John Edison (Ed) Fazenbaker, Lonaconing, sons Gary (Mary) of Westernport, and Robert (Connie) of Lonaconing.  Also surviving is one sister, Esther (Melvin) Wiland, Lonaconing.  Four grandchildren, Lisa (Henry) Stafford, of Warrenton, VA, Chanda (Fred Rounds), of Barton, Ryan Fazenbaker, Barton, and Joshua (Tina) Fazenbaker, Cresaptown.  Also surviving are eight great-granddaughters, Emily, Sydney, Kendal, Madison, Sophie, Gwendolyn, Ava, and Christina. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Ella Rae was a faithful lifetime member of the Bethel Holiness Church. She was formerly employed at the Lonaconing Silk Mill.  She lovingly tended many children thru the years.  She also faithfully tended to her church, keeping it in spotless order for many years.  She served as secretary to the Women’s Ministries of the Bethel Holiness Church.  She also sang in the church choir.

The family will receive friends at the Boal Memorial Chapel in Barton, on Monday, July 7, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.  Her Home Going Service will be conducted at the Bethel Holiness Church, Lonaconing on Tuesday, July 8, at 11:00 AM, by her nephew Rev. George Loar, assisted by Rev. Charles Winebrenner, and Rev. David Schoch.

Interment will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Lonaconing.

Memorials in her memory may be directed to the Bethel Holiness Church, Lonaconing, MD.

The family would like to thank the staff at Frostburg Village Nursing Home for the care Ella received while a resident there.
