Elizabeth Josephine “Betty Jo” Kyle, 82, passed away on January 27, 2017 at Egle Nursing and Rehab Center.

Born on December 9, 1934, she was the daughter of the late James K. and Alma (Kelly) Clark. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Kyle and her granddaughter, Andrea Gattens.

Betty Jo attended the Barton United Methodist Church, where she loved to attend bible study classes. She was a 1952 graduate of Barton High School and a member of the Barton Alumni Association. Betty Jo was a volunteer for the George’s Creek Ambulance Service. She loved to go bowling and also enjoyed gardening. Betty Jo loved to help anyone that she could.

Betty Jo is survived by her children, Cary Kyle and wife, Sue of Keyser, WV, Kim Gattens and husband, Fred of Lonaconing, Holly Kyle of Barton and Donna Kyle-Churchill and husband, J.B. of Frostburg. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Butch Gattens and wife, Katie, Sarah Llewellyn and husband, Reese, Nicole Kyle and fiancée, James Ruby, Corey Kyle and wife, Kayleigh; her special great grandchildren, Owen Llewellyn, Elizabeth Gattens and Kopper Kyle; and her brother Jerome Clark of Barton.

Family and friends will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 10 to 11 am. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Sandy Cowan and Rev. George Loar officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Barton United Methodist Church, Tri-Towns Rescue Squad, Barton Hose Company or the Union Rescue.
